Calhoun's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Valley Lumberjacks 65-14. The Red Devils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Calhoun's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brennen Carpenter, who rushed for 103 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, and also threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Carpenter a new career-high. Chase Schoolcraft was in the mix as well, providing Calhoun with three scores.

The win snapped Calhoun's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-6 record. As for Valley, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Webster County at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Valley, they will square off against Wirt County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
