Basketball Recap: Marlboro Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

After losing to Beacon the last time they met, Marlboro Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Marlboro Central Dukes narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Beacon Bulldogs 53-50. The win was all the more spectacular given the Dukes' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 174th).

The victory was the third in a row for Marlboro Central, bringing their record for this year to 11-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Beacon, they moved to 14-4 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Coming up, Marlboro Central will face off against Saugerties at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Saugerties has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 212 points over their last three games. Beacon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
