Softball Recap: Doherty Memorial Highlanders vs. Reading Memorial Rockets
Doherty Memorial and Reading Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Sunday, but Doherty Memorial had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 4-3. The Highlanders just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Riley Cormier was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over 8.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Audrey Lefebvre was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one stolen base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Doherty Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Reading Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.
