It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Russellville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the West Point Warriors. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-2 win on April 9th.

Kaylee Suggs spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bri McCulloch was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ticelee Gholston, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Russellville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted in their last nine contests.

Russellville's victory bumped their record up to 9-27-1. As for West Point, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-21 record this season.

As of now, neither Russellville nor West Point have any future games scheduled.
