Softball Recap: West Jessamine Wins Going Away Against Boyle County

West Jessamine made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Boyle County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Colts blew past the Rebels 13-7 on Tuesday. For the Colts, this counts as revenge for the 13-4 win the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Michaela Tate made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, West Jessamine got a massive performance out of Addi Vahle, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Hobgood, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

West Jessamine now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Boyle County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

West Jessamine will challenge Mercer County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Boyle County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Casey County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
