Softball Recap: Palmer Ridge's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Palmer Ridge put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Discovery Canyon Thunder. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Thunder, too.

Pam Boyarko spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Palmer Ridge got a big performance out of Corinna Arellano, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Tehani Lum-Perreira also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Palmer Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Discovery Canyon, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmer Ridge will be taking part in a tournament against Elizabeth at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Discovery Canyon, they will challenge Highlands Ranch at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.63 runs per game on average), something the Thunder will no doubt try to take advantage of.
