Basketball Recap: Northwest Halifax Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Vance County came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Northwest Halifax, but Daveion Richardson wouldn't allow it. The Northwest Halifax Vikings wrapped up 2024 with a 63-45 victory over the Vance County Vipers thanks in part to Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Several Vipers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayden Roberts, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Heggie, Jr, who had 11 points.

Northwest Halifax is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Vance County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Northwest Halifax didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-42 win against Rocky Mount Prep on the 3rd. As for Vance County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 83-64 defeat against Carrboro on the 3rd.
