After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hermon, Presque Isle was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Fort Kent Warriors 23-2. That looming 23-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Ryan Blackstone was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Blackstone was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs.

In other batting news, Evan Ellis was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Trent Mastro, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Presque Isle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Kent only posted an OBP of .217.

Presque Isle's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Fort Kent, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Presque Isle will welcome Houlton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Kent, they will face off against Fort Fairfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
