Recap: University Phoenix vs. Millburn Millers
The University Phoenix lost against the Millburn Millers back in January of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. University took a hard 70-51 fall against Millburn. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Millburn is ranked 21st).
Zach Benmorits was his usual excellent self, scoring 35 points along with seven rebounds for Millburn. The contest was Benmorits' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chase Plotkin, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
University's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Millburn, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will square off against Newark Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Millburn, they will head out on the road to face off against North Star Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Star Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
