Volleyball Recap: Mason County Central Comes Up Short

Mason County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Big Rapids Cardinals. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in October of 2021.

Mason County Central actually scored more points across those three sets (71-66), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 26-24, 25-22.

Mason County Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-18-3. As for Big Rapids, their win ended an 11-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-21-1.

Looking ahead, Mason County Central will take on Manistee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Big Rapids, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Onekama on the 28th.
