St. Francis Borgia took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Sullivan Eagles 4-3. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 10-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Charlie Gildehaus tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, St. Francis Borgia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Eckhoff, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Coming up, St. Francis Borgia will challenge Sullivan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sullivan, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
