South Charleston is a perfect 4-0 against Clay County since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Black Eagles will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. South Charleston is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between South Charleston and Parkersburg, and Parkersburg kept the tradition alive. The Black Eagles fell just short of the Big Reds by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

South Charleston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Hackman, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Clay County didn't have quite enough to beat Roane County on Thursday and fell 5-3.

South Charleston's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Clay County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7.

South Charleston came out on top in a nail-biter against Clay County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
