Baseball Game Preview: Clark Cougars vs. Judson Rockets

The Clark Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Judson Rockets at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Clark came up short against Brazoswood on Thursday, falling 8-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Hummel was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Hummel was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with.

Hummel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nate McDonald, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Judson lost 16-1 to Brazoswood on Thursday.

Clark's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Judson, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything went Clark's way against Judson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Clark made off with a 16-0 victory. Will Clark repeat their success, or does Judson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
