Basketball Recap: Ben Connelly Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Deary

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Coeur du Christ Academy had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Deary Mustangs by a score of 54-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coeur du Christ Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Connelly, who shot 41% from the field to rack up 26 points. Connelly's afternoon made it 19 games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerome Cools, who went 5-for-6 en route to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Coeur du Christ Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Deary, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Coeur du Christ Academy has already played their next matchup, a 69-56 defeat against Dietrich on the 6th. Deary does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
