Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Appling Christian Academy

Trinity Christian took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They managed a 58-52 win over the Appling Christian Academy Eagles. For Trinity Christian, this counts as revenge for the 65-56 victory Appling Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Nathan Suchovsky was a one-man wrecking crew as he posted 25 points and four steals. The game was his third in a row with at least 19 points. Isaac Sherrod was another key player, putting up 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Appling Christian Academy lost, don't look at Jaden Drake. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 23 points and 21 boards. Drake has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Braylen Brooks, who put up 12 points.
