Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial and Whetstone squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Centennial had to settle for second. They came up short against the Braves, falling 11-1. The Stars were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Braves' pitchers proved too tough.

Centennial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Hammond, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Centennial moved to 9-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Whetstone, their record is now 15-6.

Coming up, Centennial will be taking part in a tournament against Independence at 2:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Whetstone, they will head out to take on Westland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
