Softball Recap: Moreno Valley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Moreno Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of the Westminster Lions by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since March 7, 2024.

Mia Licon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Marissa Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Moreno Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Westminster, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-11.

Moreno Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westminster, they have already played their next matchup, a 14-8 win against Fillmore on the 17th.
