Basketball Game Preview: Stone Bridge Bulldogs vs. Heritage Pride

The Stone Bridge Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Heritage Pride at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Stone Bridge made easy work of Lightridge and carried off a 66-45 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Heritage entered their tilt with Dominion on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Titans as they made off with a 57-37 win. Given the Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Titans are ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Stone Bridge, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Stone Bridge strolled past Heritage in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 63-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stone Bridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
