It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Romulus had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 26-24 win over the Lincoln-King Academy Eagles. Winning may never get old, but Romulus sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

A big part of Romulus' victory came down to the chemistry between Torrence Searcy and his top target Adrian Barnes. Searcy rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry while Barnes picked up 117 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Searcy was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.

Romulus was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Lincoln-King Academy lost, don't look at Saron Beeman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Beeman has posted since back in August.
