Baseball Game Preview: Hiawatha Red Hawks vs. Sabetha Bluejays

Hiawatha is 2-8 against Sabetha since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Red Hawks will host the Bluejays. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Hiawatha is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since April 4, 2024 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Silver Lake, sneaking past 9-7.

Hiawatha saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Jensen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Sabetha narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Rossville 3-1.

Hiawatha's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-6-1. As for Sabetha, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
