Baseball Recap: Garfield Starts Season with Loss at Home

Garfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 13-2 to the Hawthorne Bears on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Boilermakers of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Garfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-7 defeat against Ridgefield Memorial on the 2nd. As for Hawthorne, they have also already played their next game, a 17-7 loss against Park Ridge on the 2nd.
