Baseball Recap: Mt. Hope Takes a Loss

Mt. Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Hendricken Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Will Francis made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Logan Dubois, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Mt. Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Bishop Hendricken, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Hope will square off against Barrington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last five games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Bishop Hendricken, they will challenge Moses Brown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
