Geneseo had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Normal University on Saturday. The Maple Leafs blew past the Pioneers 15-6. The Maple Leafs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by nine runs or more this season.

Lillian Brown was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Lauren Piquard was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Geneseo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Normal University only managed eight hits.

Geneseo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Normal University, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Geneseo will be playing at home against Quincy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Normal University, they will challenge Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
