Basketball Recap: Chrisman Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Chrisman had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Gavin McCord did his part to make it four on Friday. The Chrisman Cardinals strolled past the DeLand-Weldon Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 59-41 thanks in part to McCord, who shot 6-for-10 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten boards. Those 30 points gave him a new career-high.

Chance Chaney was another key player, putting up six points and five steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Chrisman's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for DeLand-Weldon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chrisman will welcome First Baptist Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. First Baptist Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Chrisman surely won't give up without a fight. As for DeLand-Weldon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fisher at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
