Softball Recap: Beau Chene Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Beau Chene had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Hanson Memorial Tigers as they made off with a 12-4 win. Considering the Gators have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Laci Faul was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Ava Hargroder was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Anna Bergeron was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Beau Chene kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Beau Chene's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Hanson Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
