Basketball Recap: Middle Park Drops Highest Score of Season Against Englewood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middle Park). They claimed a resounding 64-13 victory over the Englewood Pirates. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-12.

Middle Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blaire Hester, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Hester has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Hanson, who went 8 for 19 en route to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Middle Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Middle Park's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points per game. As for Englewood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Middle Park will head out on the road to take on Arrupe Jesuit at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Englewood, they will host Arvada at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
