Game recap: Clearwater Central Catholic High School Football Team defeats St. Petersburg Catholic

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Diquan Walker ran for two touchdowns and J. T. Steele added two as well as Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater, Fla.) defeated St. Petersburg Catholic (St. Petersburg, Fla.) 56-0 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Walker in the first quarter, the Marauders led 21-0 at the half.

Clearwater Central Catholic expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. CCC scored four times in the third, including once on a Blake Gomez touchdown pass to Michael Stevenson.

With the win the Clearwater school extended its winning streak to eight games. The Marauders defeated the Manta Rays 23-0 last week.

Clearwater Central Catholic went into the matchup giving up only 8.9 points per game. The zero points that the Barons ended with were well below their average of 29.1 coming into the game.



When the two teams played each other last season, CCC came away with a 48-6 victory.

Clearwater Central Catholic (8-1) will play a 3A District 5 game against Indian Rocks Christian next week, while St. Petersburg Catholic (3-6) will take on Calvary Christian in a non-conference game.
