Baseball Game Preview: Berkeley Yellowjackets vs. Castro Valley Trojans

For the second straight game, Berkeley will face off against Castro Valley. The Yellowjackets will square off against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Berkeley's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Castro Valley as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Enrique Sotelo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Berkeley got a massive performance out of Julian Adorador, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Miles Mino, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Berkeley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in ten consecutive contests.

Berkeley's record is now 15-1-1. As for Castro Valley, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
