Basketball Game Preview: Olive Branch Conquistadors vs. St. George's Gryphons

The Olive Branch Conquistadors will face off against the St. George's Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Olive Branch took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They strolled past Holmes County Central with points to spare, taking the game 51-37. Those 51 points were actually the fewest the Conquistadors have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for St. George's against Craigmont on Thursday as the squad secured an 83-45 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gryphons.

St. George's win came from a few key players Olive Branch will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kamyrn Green, who made all 5 shots he took to post 10 points and eight rebounds. Jesse Brown was another key player, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

St. George's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Olive Branch, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
