Hamilton hasn't had much luck against Oak Hills recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Big Blue will welcome the Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. Hamilton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Hamilton after they put the first runs on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-2 to Lakota West. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Big Blue have suffered against the Firebirds since April 27, 2022.
Hayden Snyder was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Hamilton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Powers, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another was Austin Payne, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Oak Hills put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Talawanda a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Oak Hills also got a great performance from Gabe Cox as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Ethan Moeves was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Cooper Harrison was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Oak Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Oak Hills' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Hamilton might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Oak Hills when the teams last played on Wednesday. Will the Big Blue have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
