Volleyball Recap: Nevada Victorious

Monett typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Nevada proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Cubs by a score of 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cubs: they've now won nine in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Halle Hawks, who had nine digs and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

Hawks wasn't the only good servers: Nevada was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive matchups.

Nevada's record now sits at 21-6-2. As for Monett, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6-1.

Nevada wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against El Dorado Springs on the 13th. As for Monett, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Lamar on the 14th.
