Basketball Recap: Parowan Comes Up Short

Parowan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the American Leadership Academy Eagles. The Rams were down 58-38 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

American Leadership Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kannon Huntsman, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. Huntsman is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Hunter, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 23 points.

Parowan's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for American Leadership Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parowan won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rowland Hall at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. American Leadership Academy and Freedom Prep Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
