Football Recap: Western Guilford Skates Past High Point Central with Ease

While Western Guilford put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for High Point Central. The Hornets claimed a resounding 50-0 victory over the Bison.

Leading Western Guilford to victory were Timothy (Tim) Baker and Caleb Moore. Baker rushed for 126 yards and three scores on only 14 carries, while Moore rushed for 44 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jaaki Neal got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Western Guilford, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Neal, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win got Western Guilford back to even at 1-1. As for High Point Central, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Guilford will host Southern Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for High Point Central, they will welcome Southwest Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
