Softball Recap: Jensen Beach Has No Trouble Against Central

After only one run in their last matchup, Jensen Beach made sure to put some runs up on the board against Central on Tuesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Cobras with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Riley Boop made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ale Segura and Calli Ryan did most of the damage at the plate: Segura went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Ryan got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave Ryan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thianna Viens, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Jensen Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only posted an OBP of .167.

Jensen Beach's record is now 5-13. As for Central, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Jensen Beach has already played their next contest, a 19-0 victory against Westwood on the 16th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-4 defeat against Centennial on the 17th.
