Basketball Game Preview: Midway/Minto Mustangs vs. St. John Woodchucks

The Midway/Minto Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the St. John Woodchucks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Midway/Minto is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Park River/Fordville-Lankin on Saturday. The game between them and the Aggies didn't end well, with Midway/Minto falling 38-24. The Mustangs have struggled against the Aggies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, St. John posted their biggest win since December 30, 2024 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 55-30 margin over Cavalier. The victory continues a trend for the Woodchucks in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won five in a row.

Midway/Minto's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for St. John, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.

Midway/Minto was able to grind out a solid victory over St. John in their previous matchup back in January, winning 55-42. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was St. John's Kennley Davis, who went 7-for-13 on her way to 21 points along with seven steals and six boards.
