Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley View Spartans. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Gregory Pearson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Connor Monk, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Valley View, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Coming up, Franklin will be playing at home against Greenville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
