Softball Game Preview: Vernon Lions vs. Holliday Eagles

For the second straight game, Vernon will face off against Holliday. The Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Vernon has struggled recently with 14 losses in a row, while Holliday will arrive with three straight wins.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Vernon's offense. They came up short against Holliday on Tuesday, falling 23-0.

Vernon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Sanchez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. That hit was Sanchez's first of the season.

Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Holliday, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7-1.
