Basketball Game Preview: Glynn Academy Terrors vs. Alexander Cougars

The Glynn Academy Terrors will venture away from home to take on the Alexander Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Friday, Glynn Academy came up short against Evans and fell 60-47. The Terrors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Faith Jernigan, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Spaulding, who put up 11 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, Alexander had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Jaguar 54-52. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Cougars were the better team in the second half.

Alexander found their leader in sophomore Nimah Ibidunni, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ibidunni's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Stamper, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points.

Alexander's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Glynn Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 16-12.
