Basketball Recap: Sandhills/Thedford Takes a Loss

Sandhills/Thedford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 42-30 to the Burwell Longhorns. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Burwell had a senior duo take command as Kaitlyn Simpson dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds and Avery Mann posted ten points and seven boards. Simpson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games she's played.

Sandhills/Thedford's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Burwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Sandhills/Thedford has already played their next game, a 51-42 win against Ainsworth on the 7th. As for Burwell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-35 loss against Nebraska Christian on the 8th.
