Baseball Recap: James F. Byrnes Drops Season-High Score on Spartanburg

James F. Byrnes scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartanburg Vikings. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 11, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Connor Crenshaw and Blake Collins stepped up to the plate in a big way. Crenshaw went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Collins scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Crenshaw a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Moss, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: James F. Byrnes kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

James F. Byrnes' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Spartanburg, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.
