Softball Game Preview: Stratford Red Devils vs. Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars

The Stratford Red Devils will challenge the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Stratford is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Notre Dame Prep on Thursday. They came up short against the Lancers, falling 13-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Kolbe-Cathedral was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 13-1 to Immaculate. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Kolbe-Cathedral saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Galarza, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Stratford got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Kolbe-Cathedral by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
