It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Massac County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Harrisburg Bulldogs, sneaking past 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Edwards, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Kaylor, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

With the victory, Massac County broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-12. As for Harrisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Coming up, Massac County is taking a road trip to face off against Murphysboro at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Harrisburg, they will be playing at home against Century at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
