Volleyball Recap: McCook Takes a Loss

McCook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gering Bulldogs. While the Bison didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-14 in the first set.

McCook actually scored more points across those three sets (69-64), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-23, 25-21.

Jaylea Walgren paced McCook's offense, picking up 13 kills. Walgren got some help from Karstyn Porter and her 29 assists.

McCook's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Gering, their victory bumped their record up to 20-6.

McCook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against North Platte on the 4th. As for Gering, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Torrington on the 4th.
