Basketball Recap: Glenvar Takes a Loss

Glenvar has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 75-74 heartbreaker at the hands of the Floyd County Buffaloes. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Buffaloes earlier this season, when they won 61-59.

Glenvar's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Floyd County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Glenvar won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Carroll County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenvar is on a three-game streak of home wins, Carroll County a nine-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Floyd County, they will venture away from home to face off against Radford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Floyd County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Radford likes a good challenge.
