Basketball Recap: Fellowship Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Harper Clark and Bryce Baker

Fellowship Academy lost against Ovilla Christian back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. 2025 welcomed the Fellowship Academy Mustangs with a 65-41 loss courtesy of the Ovilla Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1354th, while the Eagles are ranked 603rd).

Fellowship Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Baker and Harper Clark. Baker posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, while Clark dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 34.1% of Fellowship Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Connor Fountain was another key player, putting up four points and 11 rebounds.

Fellowship Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Ovilla Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Fellowship Academy will square off against Covenant Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ovilla Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-60 win against Calvary Academy on the 6th.
