Baseball Recap: Menlo School Beats El Camino for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Menlo School won against Sacred Heart Prep last Wednesday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the El Camino Colts 2-0. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Colts walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Reid Plamondon looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Menlo School saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Freehill, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The victory (which was Menlo School's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for El Camino, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Menlo School will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
