On Friday, Waterloo came up short against Newark and fell 40-33.

Meanwhile, Lyons had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They walked away with a 45-32 win over the Blue Panthers. The 45-point effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Lyons' victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.7 points. As for Waterloo, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Waterloo beat Lyons 59-49 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waterloo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
