Recap: Columbus Cardinals vs. Industrial Cobras
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Second Baptist, the Columbus Cardinals were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 42-31 win over Industrial. Given Columbus' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while Industrial is ranked 1007th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Columbus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anaya Gardner, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Thea Schobel, who scored 11 points.
Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Industrial, they bumped their record down to 5-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Columbus and La Grange will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. As for Industrial, they will square off against Boling at 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday.
