Softball Recap: Southeastern Takes a Loss

Southeastern easily dispatched Susan Moore last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Mustangs fell just short of the Hayden Wildcats by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Southeastern saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Freeman, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Reese Hall also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Southeastern has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Hayden, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-14.

Southeastern wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Locust Fork on the 3rd. As for Hayden, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Cleveland on the 3rd.
