Baseball Game Preview: Delbarton Green Wave vs. Poly Prep Country Day Blue Devils

The Delbarton Green Wave will face off against the Poly Prep Country Day Blue Devils at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Delbarton blew Roxbury out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Roxbury got their revenge. The Green Wave fell just short of the Gaels by a score of 6-4.

Meanwhile, Poly Prep Country Day never let their opponents score on Thursday. They skirted past St. Anthony's 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Miguel Sime Jr. tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Poly Prep Country Day saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mateo Noto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Noto also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Delbarton's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Poly Prep Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Delbarton skirted past Poly Prep Country Day 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Green Wave repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
